Abstract:
New York-based International Paper is the world's largest paper, and forest products company and is the world's second largest private landowner. However, since the early 21 st century, it has been witnessing weaker demand, falling prices and its debts have increased. Despite many revival initiatives, in 2004, it incurred a loss of $35 million. In July 2005, John Faraci, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of International Paper announced a broad restructuring plan to boost profits and reduce debts by focusing on core businesses.
